The Scholarship
In October 2004, Crystal's friends met at a restaurant in Tacoma , Washington, near Mount Tahoma High School - a school they attended with Crystal nearly 20 years earlier. That evening, they made a pledge to keep Crystal's memory alive. Soon thereafter, a board of directors was established to lay the groundwork for the Crystal Judson Brame Memorial Scholarship (CJBMS). The memorial fund has potential for long-term growth and prosperity.
This Web site will enable stewards of the scholarship to reach a larger audience.
The Fund
How is the scholarship fund set up?
Cash donations will be invested as an endowment and the income generated from the investment will be used to fund the scholarships.
How many scholarships will be funded?
A minimum of one (1) scholarship will be awarded annually. Multiple scholarships will be awarded if adequate resources are available from
the fund.
Who will determine the recipient(s)?
The CJBMS Board of Directors will review applications and will select the recipient(s) from those that meet the minimum requirements.
What is the goal?
As the fund balance increases, the CJBMS Board of Directors will strive to support multiple annual scholarships. In all circumstances, the endowment fund must remain self-sufficient and maintain a balance which supports scholarship funding on an on-going basis, year-to-year.
Who Will Benefit?
The scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior enrolled at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma, Washington, who has been accepted to an accredited college or university. The value of the scholarship will be based upon available funds and determined by a vote of the CJBMS board of directors.
When was the first scholarship awarded?
The first scholarship was awarded to a 2006 graduating senior.

Envelopes must be postmarked no later than May 9, 2008 for applications to be considered.
